About us
Flipturn’s mission is to decarbonize transportation by accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles. Transportation is the largest contributor of any sector to greenhouse gas emissions in the US, making electrification critical to averting a climate crisis.
For commercial fleets, the biggest pain point around adopting electric vehicles is charging. Even at private charging depots, fleets lack critical real-time visibility into charger health and status. A charger that unexpectedly stops charging can derail operations if the issue isn’t caught immediately. Charging at the wrong times can incur electricity costs that are thousands of dollars higher than they need to be.
Flipturn is a leading charging management platform for fleets and charging depots, with customers including:
- Purolator – Canada's largest courier network, delivering 25 million packages/year
- Zeem – one of the largest EV charging depots in the US, charging 800 vehicles per day
- Republic Services – one of the largest recycling and waste fleets in the United States
We provide a comprehensive solution that minimizes utility costs with energy management, improves charger uptime and issue resolution speed, and provides powerful cost per mile and range insights for EV operations.
Flipturn is backed by top VC firm Accel, is well-funded with years of runway, and is generating revenue.
Role and expectations
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will help drive product direction and build out features end-to-end for Flipturn’s fleet operations platform. You will participate in conversations with customers, and have heavy input into the features we build and how they are implemented. The functionality, user experience, speed, and reliability of our product is a top selling point, so your work will be directly tied to value for our customers.
Some example projects you may work on in your first three months at Flipturn include:
- Developing an end-to-end payments solution to make it easy for customers to pay for charging at semi-private fleet depots
- Optimizing algorithms to automatically adjust charger power output based on vehicle schedules, utility costs, and battery/solar
- Building interactive, real-time visualizations for fleet operators to quickly identify charging issues or make adjustments to their schedules
